Dear Friends of Teapot Ministries,
The end of 2011 is looming with only weeks till Christmas and we are excited
about the happenings in Teapot Ministries this year.
Our ‘Join us on Fridays’ group has just celebrated its 1st Birthday and the
group now comprises of around 20 women who sew, share ideas, have
morning tea and lunch, build each other up and generally encourage each
other in life. The ‘Carlingford Cupcakes’ are putting the finishing touches to
the sampler quilt they have been learning to make this year and the other
groups like the ‘Kendal Kettles’, ‘Sugar Fixes’ and ‘Time Outs’ have had a great
year of sewing and sharing together and are now also looking for finish off
their 2011 projects.
In March we started our ‘On the Road with Teapot’ group in Canberra called
the ‘Sew Addictives’. These girls are also learningpatchwork and quilting
techniques by making a sampler quilt. They come together for a weekend of
sewing every two months. Our committee member, Tanya, has travelled to Canberra to teach this group and we
value her commitment to this part of Teapot Ministries. We had a wonderful sharing with these ladies at our Retreats
in July and August.
The Retreats were a time of blessing and creativity with 75 women attending over the two weekends. We sewed
many projects, finished lots of ‘UFOs’ and talked about finding ‘Peace ‘n Time’ in our lives.
The Bus trip to the Central coast in June was a lot of fun. We visited Patchwork 33 - a great place for a weekend
sewing Retreat, Blueberries Patchwork shop in Wyong and Pieces to Treasure at MacMasters Beach. Lunch at Ken
Duncan Galleries offered delicious food change of pace from the patchwork and quilting. All in all a good day was
have by all who attended.
Now, as we approach the end of the year, we are excited about our Quilt show this weekend. We also look forward
to an exciting 2012 with the commencement of our new Theatre group, new sewing groups and all the other activities
organised by Teapot Ministries.
We with you and your families a very Blessed and Holy Christmas and look forward to connecting again with you in
2012.
